Our annual Christmas party, held on December 2nd at the Hendersonville Church of Christ, was a huge success.  It was a large gathering composed of our old members, but also brought a large number of new faces that we wish to welcome into our community. 

We had lots of food, lots of dancing, lots of singing, and most importantly, a lot of FUN! 

We started the evening with our FAC-WNC Christmas Carolers, who sang both English and Tagalog Christmas songs.  Their last song, "Here Comes Santa Claus" was a perfect song choice for the entrance of none other than our own FAC-WNC Santa, who brought presents for all the kids! 

The annual Christmas Party also means it's time for the induction of the new officers.  And for 2007 our officers are:  Arnel Marucut, President; Charlie Rice, Vice-President; Vivian Brown, Secretary; and Bing Rice, Treasurer; Herme Huff, Auditor.  Our new officers were inducted in the traditional candle ceremony lead by Dr. Rene Dioquino.  Our Board of Directors also took part; they are Rem Navarro, Rick Rodriguez, and re-elected director, Virginia Rodriguez. 

After the induction ceremony, we followed with a "Sing-A-Gong" game, a prelude to our Karaoke Contest, headed by our emcee for the evening, Marilou Marucut.  Our directors and officers all chose songs to sing, just like the Karaoke contestants.  However, there was a twist; they had to draw their selections, possibly choosing a different song.  Our "gonger" was Brian Rodriguez, who provided a lot of laughs, as well as the directors and officers 'antics' during this game. 

We continued on for the Karaoke Contest in which thirteen of our members competed.  We were serenaded with love songs, boogied to fast beat pop songs, and thoroughly entertained.  Our judges this year in our mock American Idol were Empie Higgins, Bing Rice, and Paul Bernadas.  They chose as our winner, the talented and charismatic, Ted Barazon, 1st First Runner up is our very own dance choreographer, Mary Ann Ar, and our 2nd runner up was the President's 4 year old daughter, Alyssa Marucut.  Our winner gets an invitation to perform at our Valentine's Party. 

The rest of the night was full of socializing, eating, and dancing.  What a great way to end a very successful year, and to look forward for another successful year with our new administration.
